LAUNCH OF RISE
Press Release | November 2009
A new concept in Talent & Literary Management and Film/TV Production.
In response to demand for a dynamic and professional approach to entertainment talent management and production in Australia, RISE has been launched in Sydney.
Managing Director Rob Woodburn said, "RISE, unlike any of its competitors, will compete locally and globally by accessing and securing some of the best Australian and American actors, writers, and filmmakers as clients.”
RISE has secured a talented and diverse group of actors, such as Luke Jacobz (HOME AND AWAY, MCLEOD'S DAUGHTERS), Chantelle Barry (90210, COUPLES RETREAT), Vernon Wells (MAD MAX 2, COMMANDO), Mike Goldman (BIG BROTHER, JOKER POKER), Tony Bonner (MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER, QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER), Bren Foster (CEDAR BOYS), Kelly Atkinson (CROOKED BUSINESS), Graeme Squires (THE DREAM CHILDREN) and pop singer Cassie Davis whose album DIFFERENTLY is currently topping the charts.
The focus of RISE will be Talent (film, television, theatre, and commercials), Literary (writers & directors), and Production (Australian and American feature film & television).
RISE will use all of its many resources to find, cultivate, and develop viable film and television projects in Australia and the U.S. through an already established pipeline of innovative and creative material. Beyond that, the Literary/Production arm of RISE will be extremely aggressive in discovering and securing new material for development.
At the core of RISE’s business model is professional, competent, and experienced representation in Australia coupled with strategic alliances in the United States. Within this model RISE will recognise the aspirations, career management dimensions, and requirements of its clients. A core value of the company will be to develop, nurture, and manage their careers, and not simply act as a commissioned agent/manager.
RISE has established a strong management team that includes BDO Chartered Accountants and HWL Ebsworth Lawyers. Woodburn said, "It is important for our clients to know that their representation is protected by best-practice financial and legal management. That's why we have appointed both BDO and HWL Ebsworth.”
